IPL Laser Hair Removal

Designed to get rid of hair permanently*

Super IPL Hair Removal

How much time a week do you spend getting rid of your body hair? Laser hair removal is the deliberate removal of body hair using the technology of laser, that should rid your body of hair permanently.*

The FDA approved procedure works by targeting the hair follicle with laser light. This energy damages and goes on to destroy the hair follicle, which should stop the follicle from producing further hairs. The laser delivers an intense beam of light, which is absorbed by the hair follicle whilst the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. We use a super hair removal IPL machine that should rejuvenate the skin as well as remove the hair. The machine should allow the treatment to be almost pain free compared to traditional IPL machines*, and can also be used to treat broken thread veins in the legs and skin pigmentation.*

Science

The science

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL hair removal) is a technology where light is converted into heat energy. Treatments are like a very powerful camera flash lamp being held against your skin. The selected light waves target chromophores (colour pigments) such as melanin, which is intended to destroy the hair follicle and stop the follicle from producing further hairs. IPL should remove hair without disruption to the skin’s surface.*

FAQ

FAQs

Am I right for this treatment?

Both men and women seek laser hair removal to remove unwanted hair. Laser technology works by targeting dark pigment. Therefore, it works best on pale skin and dark coarse hair. The lighter the skin and the darker and more coarse the hair, the better are the results. The best candidates are patients treating areas with dark coarse dense hair growth.*

How many treatments do I need?

We usually advise to have at least 6-8 effective treatments spaced 8-12 weeks apart. As hair grows in cycles, several sessions are necessary in order to affect all hair on any given area.*

How often do I need treatment?

Due to length of hair growth cycles, treatments are usually needed once every 8-12 weeks, but hair cycle length varies depending on body part. The face usually requires more frequent treatments (about 8 weeks apart) whereas legs and back should need less frequent treatments (closer to 12 weeks apart).*

How long does it take for hair to shed?

Shedding of all treated hair should be expected within 3 weeks of each treatment. The hair that doesn’t shed and is growing as usual after 3 weeks has likely been either missed or not affected due to inappropriate settings. If this is the case, a touch up treatment is necessary at that time.

Once the hair sheds, patients should experience a hair-free period for several weeks. Once new hair comes in again, patients should come in for their next session and so on until hair growth stops.*

Can I have this anywhere on my body?

Hair removal is commonly done on underarm, pubic area, legs, abdomen, lip, chin, back, buttocks, thighs, face, neck, chest, arms, and toes.

Does it hurt?

In one pulse, laser should remove all the hair on a patch of skin the size of a 10 pence piece. Generally, laser hair removal is not much more painful than waxing, though the sensation is different. With each pulse, the feeling resembles a rubber band snapping against the skin for a quick second. Pain should only be felt while laser is hitting the skin and shouldn’t last.*

Is it safe?

Millions of IPL Laser procedures are performed each year, and it’s proven to be both safe and effective.*

Is there any downtime?

No! You should be able to return to normal activities straight away.
