Electrolysis Hair Removal

Created for Permanent Hair Removal

Designed to remove your hair permanently*

If you have unwanted hair in unwanted places, electrolysis is a treatment that can remove hair for good, wherever it is on your body and/or face. Electrolysis is often used in conjunction with laser hair removal, as it can remove white hair that cannot be treated with IPL alone. If you have hirsutism, this could be the perfect treatment for you. Or maybe you’re just fed up of shaving or waxing your legs, bikini area or underarms! Electrolysis is a cost-effective treatment, that can save you from the ongoing costs of shaving, waxing or threading.

The effects

Electrolysis is a treatment designed for the permanent removal of hair from the body and/or face. It takes a series of treatments to work that vary from person to person.*

Science

The science

Believe it or not, electrolysis was invented in 1875 by Dr. Charles Michel. He used electrolysis to remove irritating ingrown eyelash hairs. Now, with over a century of well proven safety and effectiveness, today’s electrolysis remains the only permanent hair removal procedure that is recognized by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). To rid the hair, a very fine flexible sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle (the tiny, natural opening out of which the hair grows). Once the probe is inserted properly down into the follicle, a burst of specifically timed and measured current is discharged to destroy hair cells. The probe is then withdrawn and the hair is lifted out of the follicle with a sterile tweezer. The goal of electrolysis is to damage the follicle to the point that it should no longer be able to produce a hair. This requires each hair being treated multiple times.*

FAQ

FAQs

What causes unwanted hair growth?

Hair growth is the result of your genes and hormone levels, although some medications, temporary methods of hair removal, and illnesses can stimulate hair growth. A common reason for excess hair growth in women is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal condition where women’s sex hormones are out of balance. Electrolysis may be an option when hair growth is in an area of the body where it may not be desired such as on a woman's upper lip, chin, or bikini line.*

Is electrolysis painful?

For most clients, the treatment is not painful, as an anaesthetic is applied before treatment.*

How long does it take?

This depends on the area that is being treated.

Is the treatment permanent?

Once you have carried out your series of treatments the effects should be permanent.*

How many treatments do I need?

We will talk to you in depth about this during your consultation, as this varies from person to person.

Where can I have electrolysis?

You can have electrolysis to remove hair from eyebrows, upper lip, face/cheeks, chin/neck, chest, breasts, back, underarms, arms, hands, fingers, abdomen, bikini, thighs, knees, legs, feet and toes.*

Is it safe?

Electrolysis is FDA cleared.

Is there any downtime?

No. It’s completely non-surgical, so you should be able to return to normal activities straight away.*
