Safety First: No Knives Needed!
March 31 2017
There is a huge amount of pressure on women and men, especially young women and men, to have the ‘perfect’ bodies that they see on their Instagram feed. Kim Kardashian’s round, perky behind and tiny waist has become something that women long for across the world. So much so, many are going under the knife to have a ‘fat grafting’ procedure. But horror struck for Ranika Hall, a 25 year old American mother who was not happy with what motherhood had done to her body.
Ranika had discussed the procedure with her family, desperately wanting a ‘perfect backside’ to rival Kim K’s. Ignoring her family’s objections, Ranika left her 1 year old daughter with her grandmother in Missouri and flew to Miami to have the ‘Brazilian Butt Lift’ procedure by Daniel Calva of Encore Plastic Surgery.
This procedure transfers fat from the abdomen, thighs or fatty areas around the triceps, using liposuction and injects the tissue into the patient’s buttocks increasing its size and sculpting its shape. Of course, the science makes sense, but during the procedure, fat had accidentally been injected into Ranika’s bloodstream and lodged near her lungs which prevented oxygen from getting into her bloodstream, stopping her from breathing. The surgery called 911 and Ranika was rushed to hospital, but it was too late. Ranika died of a fat embolism.
The reason for starting Cardiff Beauty Clinic was to provide safe alternatives to cosmetic surgery that gives results without going under the knife. If you are looking for a bum lift, our FDA approved fat freezing treatment can safely kill unwanted fat cells from underneath the buttocks to give a rounder, perkier result.* We strongly believe in offering safe, risk free beauty treatments that make both women and men feel more confident with their bodies, so hearing about the clearly avoidable and tragic death of the young mother Ranika Hall was utterly heartbreaking.
